Executive Management Team 

CEO


Michael received his Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of South Carolina and was the recipient of the coveted Guy F. Lipscomb Award for his novel research in physical biochemistry. His research has been published in top-tier scientific journals, such as Nature, Biochemistry, and the Journal of Biochemistry.

He translated his technical knowledge and skills to the Fortune 100 and 500 business sector by consulting with the Strategy and Business Architecture group of Accenture, Ltd. (NYSE: ACN), the life sciences practice of PRTM, and as an independent strategy consultant practicing in the financial services, consumer products, and pharmaceutical and medical products industries.

Prior to joining Arcus Medical, Michael helped private and public companies secure more than $300 million in funding from alliance, private equity, and government sources. He was recognized for his contributions to small business development and invited to the White House Rose Garden to attend President Bush’s economic address to the nation in 2003. Michael is an active member of Lions Clubs International.

Mark received his MBA from Ohio State University, with high honors, and a B.A. in Arts and Sciences from Penn State University. He brings over 14 years of cross-functional experience in Product Development, Marketing, Sales, Operations, Purchasing, Quality Management and Engineering with Xerox, Dresser Industries, John Deere Consumer Products and as an independent consultant.

At John Deere, Mark managed the $50MM Contractor and Landscape Products Business Segment guiding it through numerous new product launches and line extensions. As a New Business Development Director, Mark successfully performed a best-in-class study, developed strategic plans, and completed a global search and evaluation for a new product partner in the chainsaw market.

Prior to joining John Deere, Mark held several positions at Dresser Industries where he managed a large-scale project to identify new overseas suppliers and designed new business processes. In addition, he was integral to the company’s successful Total Quality Management initiative leading a $2MM cost savings program and was trained and served as an ISO 9000 auditor. Mark received in-depth sales training as a Marketing/Sales Representative at Xerox.

Scott earned an A.B. in Politics, Rhetoric, Economics & Law from The University of Chicago and a Masters in Management from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University with a focus in finance and international business.

He has nearly 20 years experience in capital markets and corporate advisory and consulting working with UBS and corporate clients including Eli Lilly, Baxter, Abbott Labs, Upjohn, Monsanto, Johnson & Johnson, Amgen, Novartis, and other private equity-backed companies.

Prior to joining Arcus Medical, Scott led the consulting client delivery and business development at The Patent Board (formerly known as ipIQ). Prior to joining ipIQ, Scott led a variety of strategy, marketing, technology commercialization and financial consulting projects for leading and emerging life sciences and high-technology companies. 

Corporate Controller


Brenda received her BS in Accounting, Business Administration and Finance with a minor in Economics from Pfeiffer College in 1983 and has been a Certified Public Accountant since 1983.

She has over 20 years of accounting, corporate controller, and corporate accounting management experience working with niche accounting firms and corporations such as Bell Atlantic, John Deere Consumer Products where she managed corporate accounting functions of a $350 million subsidiary, CSX, Inc., and as an independent consultant.
